Season highlights will focus on the music of the most romantic city in the world – Paris!  Among the concert offerings will be an evening of excepts and arias from great operas set in Paris, including Puccini's La Boheme, Massenet's Manon, Charpentier's Louise, and Verdi's La Traviata!  The season will also feature such Paris- themed pieces as one of Haydn’s “Paris” symphonies, Mozart's “Paris” Symphony, Waldteufel's “Tout-Paris Waltz”, and Meyerbeer's “Overture to Les Huguenots”, to name but a few.  A special program titled On the Corner of Broadway and the Champs d'Elysees! will offer an evening of hit songs celebrating the City of Light, including “I Love Paris”, “The Last Time I Saw Paris”, “April In Paris”, and Cole Porter’s “You don’t Know Paris”, plus music from Gigi, Jaques Brel, and Le Miserables!

Music Director & Conductor
   Robert Carter Austin 
         Music Director and Conductor Robert Carter Austin is the founder of the Symphony Arlington. A graduate of M.I.T., Cambridge University, and Stanford University, Maestro Austin has served as Music Director of Chattanooga Opera, Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra, East Texas Symphony Orchestra, and the Southern Regional Opera.  His guest-conductor appearances are numerous. National credits include symphonies and operas in nine different states. Internationally Maestro Austin appeared with orchestras all over South America, Europe and Asia. He also serves as the Music Director of the Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra & Garland Symphony Orchestra.
        
General Manager
 
Carris Morris
         Carrie Morris, a native of Alvin, TX, currently serves as the General Manager of the Garland Symphony Orchestra.  Prior to coming to the GSO, Ms. Morris worked in fundraising and special events for Family Gateway, a Dallas shelter for homeless families, and for Community Partners of Dallas, an organization that serves abused and neglected children in Dallas County.  In addition, Ms. Morris worked in marketing at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and as Chorus Manager for the Choral Arts Society of Washington in Washington, DC.  Carrie earned a B.M. in Voice Performance and an M.M. in Music History and Literature from Baylor University in Waco, TX, and continued her graduate work in the M.A. Arts Administration program at Florida State University.

Director of Operations
 
Michael Hooper
         Michael Hooper holds the position of Director of Operations for the organization.  Originally from the Dallas/Fort Worth area he studied Music Business and received a Bachelors of Music degree with selective studies in Business from West Texas A&M University.  During college Michael served as president of Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Fraternity for two consecutive years and was employed with the university as a computer technician.

Education Director
 Tisa Scates
         Tisa Scates, a native of Houston, Texas, joined Symphony Arlington staff January 2007 to act as Education Director and Administrative Director of the Lone Star Youth Orchestra. Tisa is an alumnus of Baylor University in Waco, TX where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Business Administration.
