Meet the Maestro

Maestro Robert Carter Austin

Robert Carter Austin is the founder of Symphony Arlington and the Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra. A graduate of M.I.T., Cambridge University, and Stanford University, Maestro Austin has served as Music Director of Chattanooga Opera, Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra, East Texas Symphony Orchestra, and the Southern Regional Opera.  His guest-conductor appearances are numerous. National credits include symphonies and operas in nine different states. Internationally Maestro Austin appeared with orchestras all over South America, Europe and Asia. He also serves as the Music Director of the Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra and the Garland Symphony Orchestra.

Off the podium Maestro Austin describes himself as an avid skier, as a closet country music fan, and a notorious oenophile.
